Last month, U.S. News & World Report released the latest edition of its Best Online Graduate Business Program rankings. Michigan State University's Master of Science in Management, Strategy and Leadership (MSMSL) took the number 16 spot in the non-MBA category. This represents an advancement of 10 places from its 2016 ranking.
The online MSMSL program is a recent addition for MSU; it started in 2014 with just 31 students. Since then it has grown to include more than 350.
The curriculum is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to motivate individuals, mobilize teams, make strategic decisions and implement long-term plans. The online classroom is highly interactive and lessons are based on the latest and most relevant research findings. Required courses include Creating an Ethical Organization, Developing Managerial Skills, International Management, Negotiations, and Strategic Decision Making.

U.S. News notes that the Best Online Graduate Business Programs are ranked according to five criteria: student engagement, admissions selectivity, peer reputation, faculty credentials and training, and student service and technology. Data for the rankings was collected from August 2016 and October 2016.
